Snowflake Software has announced today the appointment of Dr Nadine Alameh as Chief Executive Officer of Snowflake Software Inc, effective immediately. Nadine will be responsible for Snowflake Software’s business operations in North America, and its continued growth within the aviation industry.

“We’ve already seen some great success in our North America business, so hiring such an exceptional and world respected talent as Nadine is key to our continued growth. Having worked with Nadine for a number of years, I’ve always been a huge admirer of what she’s achieved in her career.  I have no doubt that Nadine is the right person to take our US business to the next level, her unique mix of leadership, tech and business development skills is exactly what we’ve been looking for in a CEO.  Everybody at Snowflake is thrilled to have her on board.” commented Ian Painter, CEO for Snowflake Software.

These groundbreaking programs were instrumental in further developing the Aeronautical, Weather and Flight data exchange standards that enable the SESAR and NextGen modernization vision. More recently Nadine headed the FAA sponsored Aircraft Access to SWIM standards harmonization initiative, in support of linking the Aircraft to the wider System Wide Information Management (SWIM) world.

Prior to OGC, Nadine served as a Senior Technical Advisor to NASA’s Applied Sciences Geospatial Interoperability Office, acting as the NASA representative to OGC and other standards organizations. During her career, Nadine has advised organizations on the value of international geospatial standards in a variety of domains including Aviation, Earth Observations, Defence and Intelligence, Disaster Management and Response, amongst others.

“With its mature data exchange product suite and a proven value proposition, Snowflake could not be more well-positioned to effectively enable and drive the modernization of information management in the Aviation sector,” said Nadine. “I am honored to have been chosen to support and accelerate their growth in North America. I look forward to working with the vibrant, talented and ambitious Snowflake team as we embark on this exciting journey together.”

Accomplished in IT Systems Engineering, Nadine holds two MS degrees and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the field of Information Systems Engineering, and has a BS in Computer and Communication Engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB).

“Snowflake has seen significant growth in recent years and is well positioned for that to continue. Our ability to attract such a strong CEO to lead our US business is testament to the growth potential ahead” commented Peter Woodsford, Chairman to the Board.
