The Government has today accepted the resignation of LFV’s Director General, Thomas Allard. In view of this, the Government has appointed Finance Director, Mikael Larsson as acting Director General. The Government has also accepted the resignation of Chairman Nils Gunnar Billinger. Jan Olson has been appointed Chairman of the Board.

The Government has already embarked on a recruitment effort to appoint a new Director General. In addition, the Board's overall composition will be reviewed in conjunction with the annual board review.

“I have been head of air navigation services for nine years, including three years as Director General at LFV. When the choice was to continue another three or six years, it felt natural to ask to do something else,” says Thomas Allard, who has accepted a post at the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications.

“Finance Director, Michael Larsson becomes Acting Director General until a new Director is appointed. Our hope is that he or she should be in place early this autumn. Deputy Director General Lena Byström will continue to drive the change process,” says State Secretary Ingela Bendrot.

LFV's new Chairman, Jan Olson, has a long history in the transportation industry, the first 28 years with SAS and then 10 years at SJ. “During my time at SAS, I didn’t have so much contact with air traffic control but more with the station side. After my time at SAS, I was asked to work at SJ when they transformed from a state monopoly to a competitive business. Just like SJ, LFV has a tough and exciting journey ahead,” he explains.

Nils Gunnar Billinger, as mentioned earlier, has received a two-year assignment as a member of the Performance Review Commission and therefore will not continue as Chairman of LFV.

LFV's international commitments are not affected by changes in leadership, on the contrary LFV’s involvement in European and global groupings and within the development work carried out in the context of SESAR will continue as before.
