• We will be putting more focus onto being more competitive and continuing our development work, says Olle Sundin, new general director at LFV.

In tandem with his appointment, Mr Sundin has requested an analysis in order to clarify how LFV runs its operations.

• We have managed air traffic in Sweden since 1939. Since 1978 that has included the Swedish Armed Forces and from 2013 our work in Abu Dhabi. We offer safe and sustainable air traffic services which contribute to building successful business for our customers, explains Mr Sundin.

The government has also commissioned LFV to participate in the reform and streamlining of Europe?s air traffic management systems as well as the continued integration of airspace, with safety as the highest priority.  The government also regards LFV as the driver of technological developments and research-targeted cooperation constellations with an increased focus on realised the potential of these investments.

Today, LFV has 1,250 staff, including control centres in Stockholm and Malmö, the running of 31 torn in Sweden as well as five in the United Arab Emirates.

Mr Olle Sundin has over 40 years of experience within the aviation industry and comes most recently from his post as manager for Bromma Stockholm Airport.  He started his career as an air traffic controller and has amongst other positions, been manager for air traffic control at the tower at Arlanda in Stockholm.

Business and destination development as well as environmental issues have been focus areas for Mr Sundin. He can therefore integrate a clear customer perspective into the government-owned company. Mikael Larsson, who since April 2013 has been interim GD, returns to his post as finance director in addition to being appointed to the role of deputy general director.
