Last week, the government decided that Mr Olle Sundin will commence his post as director general for LFV on 16 December 2013.
- It was the right time. We have aimed to fill the post as quickly as possible. At the same time, Mr Sundin has had a very extensive and important role for the airport company, Swedavia, explains Ingela Bendroth, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications.
Mr Sundin has broad experience as a leader and extensive competence within the aviation industry. Together with a wide international network and a history of working with both the private and public sectors, he has exactly the right background to drive development within LFV.
- Olle Sundin contributes valuable perspectives in the management of complex change which LFV is currently experiencing. He has excellent operative experience as well as managerial posts at airports, most recently within Swedavia. Integrating the customer perspective even more clearly is positive, adds Jan Olson, Chair of the board for LFV.
Mr Sundin has over 30 years? experience within the aviation industry beginning his career as an air traffic controller and then as a manager at the tower located at Arlanda Airport. As well as his recent post as manager for Bromma Stockholm Airport, he has been airport director for Göteborg Landvetter Airport, manager for Division Airport Group within LFV, with responsibility for 17 airports in Sweden, and operations manager for Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
- It will be good to start. I have a lot to learn and listen in. However, I think we will be able to begin work with the necessary improvements which also lie within my remit, says Mr Sundin.
On 20 September, Mr Sundin was appointed as the new general director for LFV. Business and destination development as well as environmental matters are strong driving forces for Mr Sundin. Mikael Larsson, who has acted as interim director general since April, will return to his post as finance director.
