On October 9 Iraq and Sweden signed a bilateral agreement regarding an exchange of products and services. For LFV, the agreement involves the opportunity to sell aviation services to Iraq.

Directly after the signing of the agreement at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, part of the Iraqi delegation visited Arlanda where, together with LFV Aviation Consulting’s Managing Director Lars Håkansson, they toured the tower and control centre. The Iraqi delegation comprised of the Minister for Transport, Hadi Al-Ameri and the Director General for the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, Naser Hussaien Bander.

“We see business opportunities predominantly within the area of green flights in which Sweden and LFV are at the forefront as well as airspace planning – these are measures which capitalise on Iraqi airspace in the best way possible,” says Lars Håkansson.

Sweden is already present in Iraq providing air traffic control services and education amongst other activities.  Aviation traffic in Iraq has, as well as in other countries in the Middle East, seen a dramatic increase over the past few years.

LFV Aviation Consulting, a subsidiary of LFV, (Air Navigation Services of Sweden), operates as a fully independent international civil aviation consultancy with a multi-skilled background and extensive experience from international aviation projects. LFV Aviation Consulting provides services to airports, aviation institutions, Eurocontrol, the European Union, European Space Agency and ICAO in more than 50 countries around the globe.
