Passenger Handling Solutions for Check-in, Baggage Drop-Off, Security Checks & Boarding

Materna ips has successfully installed 4 new Self Baggage Drop-Off systems and 2 Secure Access Gates at Hamburg Airport.

Since June 2013 Lufthansa passengers can check-in their luggage at 4 new Self Bag Drop kiosks in Hamburg. After the successful roll-out in Frankfurt and Munich, now Hamburg is the 3rd German airport offering this kind of Self-Service. Passengers identify themselves with their boarding pass at the Bag Drop kiosk and after a few clicks on the touch screen they print out the bag tags and drop-off their suitcases directly on the conveyer belt.

Additionally Materna and Gunnebo delivered 2 new Self-Service Gates for the safe access to the airside area at Hamburg Airport. Passnegers just scan their boarding passes and enter the the restricted area after the sytem has checked the validity of the data. This service is a perfect enhancement to a flexible and comfortable passenger handling process.
