Combining contactless functionality for NFC-enabled devices and smart cards with the exceptionally fast and intuitive reading of linear and 2D barcodes on phones, tablets, or paper, the new LSR118 is a compact, sealed, water and dust resistant OEM module.

This device removes the high-investment risk for kiosk, gate and turnstile manufacturers wanting to integrate barcode and contactless reading into their products. The simple plug-in design, using just a single bracket, enables it to be quickly and cost-effectively integrated into indoor or outdoor structures.

It has a unique optimised focal distance and a 2D omnidirectional barcode imager to ensure high-speed performance, capturing and decoding barcodes in any orientation from any device instantly. It also provides user-feedback with a bright green LED light to reassure users of a successful scan or a valid ticket. This makes it ideal for processing large numbers of customers quickly, many of whom may be novice users and in a hurry.

The LSR118 retains the same dimensions and IP67 certification found in the successful LSR116 and features water-resistance to 1m and a dustproof housing, making it the perfect choice for both indoor and outdoor environments, even in extreme weather conditions.

The imager reads all popular barcode standards including linear, PDF417 and 2D symbologies as well as major RFID formats – using the same point of presentation – including ISO14443, MiFare, NFC tags and contactless bank cards. The LSR118 is offered with RS232 and USB interface options and FLASH upgradeable software.
