Already added to the fleet are a S50XTD-J and a S70XDT mounted on high specification Volvo chassis with both Bronto and Volvo telematics. The Bronto telematics ensures the highest level of support and service with near instant analysis of the boom from the manufacturers experts no matter where the truck mount is working. Volvo telematics performs similar tasks for the chassis whilst also adding the benefit of being able to give the customers accurate arrival times to enhance the customers on site efficiency.

The two trucks are equipped with the latest features to aid customers including lighting rig and camera pods for media applications, earth bonding for industrial and high voltage electrical work, and spark arrestor and Chalwyn valve for oil refinery and general petro-chemical applications. Each machine also has a 300KG winch attachment for those specialist lifting tasks which is expected to prove invaluable for sheet handling companies and glass installers in the event that the additional basket capacity does not prove to be enough.

When considering the design and overall specification of the new trucks Darrel Voce (UK Technical Manager) also ensured reversing cameras for safety and very importantly the health and safety aspects of the use of outrigger pads. To minimise ground pressures these pads need to be large and therefore unfortunately heavy. By working with Bronto a solution of using round pads with low access points to and from the truck mount have been fitted to ease manual handling by the truck operators.

Loxam UK have already further truck additions in the pipeline for 2014 and already commenced discussions for early 2015 expansion.
