Date 16.11.2011

Leading business technology company Amor Group has announced a drive to recruit over 100 people in Scotland, the US and the Middle East on the back of £50m worth of new contract wins in recent months that have triggered a period of rapid growth.

Today, 16th November, Minister for Enterprise, Economy and Tourism, Fergus Ewing, toured the company’s headquarters at Inchinnan to get an understanding of how the company has continued to grow in a challenging global economic environment.

The job creation programme represents a 20 per cent increase in the Scottish firm’s head count. Amor has offices in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Coventry, Manchester and London as well as overseas bases in Houston and Dubai. 85 per cent of the positions are expected to be within Amor's Scottish operations.

The company is expanding across its key Energy, Transport and Public Services sectors, adding to the creation of 200 positions over the previous 24 months. Amor recently signed a £18.5m, four year deal to manage the Scottish Government’s eProcurement System. Other business wins include an enterprise scale implementation of cloud-based infrastructure for NATS, as well as several outsourced IT contracts with Sparrows, ASCO and BIS Salamis, all leading providers of oilfield services.

The vacancies encompass consulting, development and infrastructure disciplines at all levels in the UK as well as overseas. The company has recently established a new office in Dubai to support a major contract with Dubai Airports and is targeting significant growth in the Middle East whilst expanding its current US operations in Houston.

John Innes, Chief Executive Officer at Amor Group said: “Our rapid growth is based on providing our customers with solutions that improve performance in complex, regulated environments. In both domestic and overseas markets we are winning significant market share. Our culture of transparency, flexibility and respect reflects the manner in which our dedicated and talented people engage with customers and colleagues. Our business will continue to invest in its talent to sustain this growth.

“We are delighted that the Scottish Government has recognised our commitment to investment and job creation in Scotland and have been pleased to show the Minister around our facilities today.”

With an ambitious revenue target of £100m in 2013, Amor is investing significantly in hi-tech and skilled positions in both the short- and long-term. With 15 graduate positions available in 2012 for the newly revised graduate programme, this growth plan is firmly aimed at investing in future skills.

Minister for Enterprise, Economy and Tourism, Fergus Ewing, said: "The Scottish Government and its enterprise agencies are working hard to secure new jobs and investment, and to retain Scotland’s position as the most competitive environment for business in the UK.

"Scotland is home to a wealth of innovative and ambitious companies. Scottish Enterprise has been working with Amor to capitalise on opportunities in new international growth markets and to realise its growth plans. I am delighted that they are expanding their operations by 20 per cent by creating 100 new jobs in Scotland and overseas.

"Amor is one of Scotland’s fastest growing companies and their decision to create up to 85 posts in Scotland is testament to the skills of the local workforce and their continuing commitment to operating their global operations from Scotland."
The visit comes just weeks after the acquisition of Manchester based FS Walker Hughes, specialists in airport operational solutions; and London based healthcare specialists Invisys.

Amor Group recorded 10% organic revenue growth in the last financial year, against the back drop of the challenging economic climate. Established as a result of a management buy-out two years ago Amor Group has delivered consistent growth.
