Recording and Replay Systems for Air Traffic Control (ATC)

Leading technology provider Ricochet will provide hardware, software and support to partner Copperchase Ltd. to support a complete upgrade of the existing recording and replay system at Newcastle International Airport.

Technology for the new screen recording requirements from the CAA Safety Regulation Group (SRG) will be implemented and the air traffic operators will benefit from a maximum recording performance and the highest level of replay functionality available on the market.

The Ricochet Recording & Replay System has been designed specifically for Air Traffic Control applications. Recording and perfectly synchronized replay of voice and multiple types of data sources was implemented as core functionality. Ricochet’s flexible system complies with ICAO standards, CAP670 and ED-111.
 
SRG requires all UK-airports to have a solution which supports recording and synchronous replay of both audio, At-The-Glass (ATG/screens) and Through–The-Wall (TTW/radar feed) installed by January 1st 2012. Ricochet’s recording and replay solution complies with all SRG requirements.
 
The Ricochet software records the screen to mirror all operations, including mouse movements and information displayed to the controllers. Available for immediate replay, this tool is optimized for fast recall, as well as for incident investigations.
