In 2005, during discussions with NATS (Services) Ltd., it became obvious that the current generation of recorders were not providing a satisfactory solution to the needs of the ATC Community. The requirements of an ideal recorder were defined and enhanced in close co-operation with NATS (Services) Ltd. It is from these requirements that the Veristore Recording System has been specifically designed to  capture, record and replay voice signals, ambient microphones, plot extracted radar data, radar screens and CCTV cameras in modern ATC environments. It is fully compliant with the latest ICAO resolutions and is NATS (Services) Ltd. preferred recording solution.

Users and System Integrators have been consulted throughout the design phase, which has ensured that all of the features are useful and relevant. The resulting system is fully integrated, providing a solution, which is straightforward and intuitive to use. The comprehensive and easy to use replay facilities are all standard features of the Veristore Software package. The system is modular in concept and can be readily expanded at any time as additional requirements are identified.

Many of our competitors offer a basic system, which then requires optional extras at additional cost to meet the User Requirement Specification. Precision Applications supplies a complete package without any hidden extras or costs. We believe that we offer the only recording solution with the ability to replay audio, plot extracted radar, screen capture and CCTV, totally synchronised, within one easy to use application, directly from the recorders’ internal data stores, each of which has a minimum duration of 31 days. The use of a purpose designed, bespoke system also has the benefits of low cost of ownership and longer life expectancy.

Precision Applications now has Recording Systems installed at many airports in the UK, including Farnborough, Jersey, Birmingham, Bristol and the Isle of Man. All of these systems are fully compliant with the latest ICAO requirements for recording and replaying communication and surveillance data.

Recent ATC Contract for Precision Applications

Precision Applications have been awarded a contract to supply new ATC recording system at Manchester Airport.

Precision Applications has been awarded a contract to supply replacement ATC record and replay equipment at Manchester Airport.  The new recording system, which will be used for both communication and surveillance data, complies in full with all of the latest ICAO regulations and the requirements of UK CAP 670.  The new Veristore system was proposed by NATS (Services), who are responsible for the ATC activities at Manchester Airport and selected for purchase by the Manchester Airport Group.  Precision Applications is pleased to be working in close liaison with NATS (Services) and has been their preferred supplier of recording equipment since 2006.

Passenger numbers are increasing at Manchester Airport and major construction projects are underway, including the building of a new Control Tower, which is due to open in 2013 and the upgrade of the main runway, which is due to be completed in September of this year.  The new Control Tower will be the second tallest in Britain at 60m high.  It will give a full 360 degree panoramic view of the airport and house a visual control room, which will boast state-of-the-art radar, navigation, surveillance and communication equipment.  Precision Applications is proud to be working with Manchester Airport in the upgrade and support of their ATC facilities.
