Recording Systems for the Air Traffic Community

Precision Applications Veristore Recording Systems are to be installed at the three largest Airports in Scotland: Edinburgh, Glasgow International and Aberdeen.  At each of these airports the Veristore Systems will replace the existing recorders to ensure that the ATC recording facilities are fully compliant with the latest ICAO and UK CAA regulations, which now require the communication and surveillance data to be recorded and synchronously replayed.

NATS, who are the UK’s leading provider of ATC Services, have selected Precision Applications as their preferred supplier for Recording Solutions and will be responsible for all phases of the installation and commissioning of the new equipment.  Since the beginning of this year Precision Applications and NATS have installed similar Veristore systems at Gatwick, Cardiff, London Luton and Belfast City Airports.

Considerable investment is being made at each of these Scottish Airports with Aberdeen being the fastest growing airport in the UK in 2011.  Between them they handled a total of just over 19 million passengers in 2011 with these numbers predicted to increase to more than 50 million by 2040.
