The latest model of the Precision Applications Veristore Recorder will record 128 audio channels and 6 radar channels in a compact and robust package which only occupies 4U cabinet height.

Veristore is unique in the world of Air Traffic Recording because it is a hardware based recorder, specifically designed for this application.  It is the only recorder which stores the data directly on hard disk without using temporary or cache memory and it performs a genuine read-after-write check on all of the data written to disk.  These features mean that you can be 100% certain that all of the data will be available for replay if no alarm has been raised.

This is a claim that be supported by the fact that there has never been a single occasion where data that is required for investigation has not been immediately available from a Veristore Recorder.  Recording Systems, which use Server Technology and transfer data from one location to another can never guarantee that the data will be available and correct when requested.  By the time that the loss or corruption of the data has been identified it is too late, the information can never be recovered.

A hardware based recorder affords other significant benefits.  All of the components and assemblies, used in the recorder, have been designed with reliability and longevity as a prime Design Goal.  Veristore also uses Extended Availability Hard Disk Drives, which are unconditionally warranted for 5 years.  Server based recorders generally use COTS computer assemblies, which are often defined with lowest cost as the design criteria and tend to become obsolete after a few years.  They are then replaced with new designs that make use of advancing technology and are unlikely to be directly compatible with the original assemblies.

The bespoke designs and Extended Availability Hard Disk Drives that are used in the Veristore Recorder mean that the through life costs of Veristore are significantly less than those of a server based recorder.  Routine maintenance of the recorder is reduced to a very low level and the requirement to hold spares is less critical because the future supply of spares is controlled and guaranteed.

Precision Applications is happy to give a 15 year support undertaking on the Veristore Recorder, which is considerably longer than other recorders offered for use in this environment.
