Reduce Risk of Downtime with Abloy UK

Company ABLOY UK
Date 21.12.2018

Security expert Abloy UK is highlighting the importance of protecting critical national infrastructure (CNI) sites and assets, following a recent incident in the telecoms sector that resulted in severe disruption and downtime to essential services.

The continuation of services is a critical issue for national infrastructure organisations, and although great emphasis is placed on online security, businesses should not overlook physical security measures as controlled access of personnel is vital to protect areas and valuable assets.

For example, security hardware in Data Centres must comply with ISO 27001, which ensures physical security processes are enforced consistently and audits are conducted regularly at each site, including tests of security. Areas that need to be considered include buildings, equipment and perimeter protection.

With this in mind, Abloy offers a number of solutions such as PROTEC2 CLIQ®, a state-of-the-art locking solution based on detainer disc cylinders and electronic identification. PROTEC2 CLIQ® provides mechanical security for sites and allows flexible control of keys, access rights and complete audit trails via a web-based management system.

Abloy also offers a range of low energy electric locks which help reduce energy consumption, contributing to sustainability targets. In addition, Abloy stocks cam locks in various sizes for securing cabinets, padlocks that meet the strictest standards such as LPCB LPS 1654, and high security door sets that feature compliant fire and panic escape locks, cylinder and operational panic escape hardware with a LPS 1175 rating up to SR4.

Steve Wintle, Head of CNI at Abloy UK, said: “At Abloy we understand the challenges faced by critical national infrastructure organisations is securing valuable assets to ensure unbroken continuity of services.
