Regula has developed a passport recognition module for iOS/Android applications. All you need is to take a picture of a passport data page or upload an existing one. The module will read the document data and fill in the fields with required personal information.
The Regula Document Reader module is already used by airline companies and services dealing with identity documents (e.g. booking flights, hotel reservations, renting cars, etc.). Automatic form filling saves time and helps to avoid mistakes in personal data.
The process of passport data recognition takes not more than 1-2 seconds. There’s no need to position the document accurately and precisely in front of the camera (the passport can be tilted or turned upside down). As soon as the document machine readable zone gets in the camera view, the personal data will be recognized, parsed and verified automatically.
The module supports all MRZ types in ICAO 9303 compliant documents (passports, visas, ID cards) and ISO 18013 compliant documents (driver’s licenses).
