Last week the Rezcomm team attended the sixth Airport Parking Network Event (APNE). Held in Munich, the conference is designed to let Airport Parking industry professionals exchange ideas and take part in relevant workshops.

The event saw various countries represent airports and key industry players, allowing participants to share cutting edge airport parking information. Parking Services Director Neil Robson believes it presented a valuable opportunity for everyone involved.

"A wide range of airports in terms of size (passenger numbers) and experience discussed the technologies and techniques used to drive ancillary and non-aeronautical revenues which resulted in a great environment of openness and the opportunity to debate some key topics”.

Participants of APNE 14 quickly engaged in the opportunity to share their experiences and network with important industry players. As Neil points out,

“It's refreshing to debate subjects and strategies with the airport community that have generated mixed results. In sharing these experiences, we move ever closer to delivering the ultimate customer experience whilst simultaneously delivering increased revenue and profitability. ”

With 38.7 million passengers last year, Munich is Germany’s second-largest airport and currently ranks 7th in Europe. Held at the airports Municon Conference Centre, the Airport Parking event was hosted high up, in the heart of the airport with spacious window frontage that offered the attendees impressive views.

Rezcomm delegate and Head of Parking Services for Europe, Fred Van der Linden was enthusiastic about the event, and said,

“Munich airport showed us the spirit of a real market leader: always open to fresh and inspiring ideas, good management, top technology, a professional team and superb organisation covered with a sauce of savoir vivre charm and enthusiasm.”

Throughout the two day event thought leaders presented a number of industry specific workshops designed to inform and provoke thought. Rezcomm were amongst those presenting and held workshops which examined the revenue potential of a user’s  journey from booking to their return home, revealing the science behind maximising ancillary income  the revenue management potential of forecasting and trends and the opportunities around channel partner integration.

“It was great to be able to present and run our workshops to discuss in greater detail some of the challenges the airports face, as well as explaining how Rezcomm helps and meets some of these issues faced today in this growing and dynamic market. Networking across the two days was an excellent opportunity to touch base with current and new clientele.” – Elliot Stevens – Head of Business Development

The team at Rezcomm would also like to extend their thanks to Munich Airport, led by Peter Bayer and supported by his team. All participants felt welcomed and engaged throughout. The Evening Reception Hosted by Audi also provided another excellent opportunity to chat with both suppliers and delegates – a job well done by all organisers and appreciated by the whole Rezcomm team.

If you were unable to attend APNE14 but would like to see the Rezcomm presentation please get in touch to arrange a demonstration.
