Rezcomm - Supporting Carbon Neutrality through pre-paid parking

Company Rezcomm
Date 10.06.2016

Carbon neutrality is becoming an increasingly important issue not only to airports but passengers as well – posing some challenges but also offering opportunities for increasing ancillary revenues while improving the environment.

In 2013 the Community Observatory on airport capacity reported that 50% of airport emissions come from landside access citing the need for better public transport links, but it didn’t mention how improved parking could help.

With the average number of passengers travelling to UK airports via taxi hovering at around 20%, according to the Department of Transport, Rezcomm realises the opportunity for reducing carbon emissions through more attractive parking options for passengers and airports.

This means reducing the number of expensive taxi journeys which result in four trips to and from the airport, instead of one there and one back in a passenger’s own car, and increasing the number of people using long-stay parking at airports.
