Göteborg Landvetter Airport is western Sweden’s international airport with 90 direct flights around the world. There is around 3,500 people working at Göteborg Landvetter Airport, associated with about hundred companies and organizations. The airport offers about 90 non-stop routes, of which about fifty are regular and the rest are charter flights. With destinations ranging from Teheran to London, and Luleå to Las Palmas, the airport cover three continents and more than twenty countries.

In addition to their regular routes, they also have many charter destinations. In total, close to five million travellers pass through the doors annually, with more than 75 per cent taking international flights. Gøteborg Landvetter Airport has ordered 12 Self-service bag drop units, which will be delivered in the first quarter of 2015.

DSG Systems experience that different customers have diverse requirements. That is why DSG can deliver the solution with a variety of options and functionalities.

At Göteborg Landvetter Airport, DSG face a challenge with the actual installation because the attachment surrounding the SBD units, are made of granite stone. There can be no screws or bolts used and if the SBD units are removed in the future, the stone has to be as it was. DSG Systems will customize the client needs, and design an own special solution to fit the airport requirements, regardless these challenges.

‘’This gives our passengers a greater opportunity to manage their own time, when they are out travelling. Our hope is that this will reduce queues and provide a smoother flow at the check-in’’.

                                                                                                                                                                                   – says Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

‘’This is a natural step forward, when the ability to self-check in and receive their boarding card by various mobile solutions is common among airlines. Now it is possible to control your baggage handling yourself, if you want to’’.

                                                                                                                                                                                                           -says Charlotte Ljunggren.

DSG Systems has installed more than a hundred SBD solutions in over eight different countries, and is now one of the leading suppliers of bag drop solutions in Europe.

’Swedavia airports owns and operates Göteborg airport. DSG Systems are very familiar with the airport, after earlier deliveries of BRAINS, and we are now very pleased to cooperate with Göteborg again on this project’’

                                                                                                                                                                                   – Says DSG Systems Managing Director, Idar Sørgjerd.
