SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) is the operational and technological programme aimed at answering Europe’s main air traffic management challenges.

Its development is managed by the SESAR Joint Undertaking, which ensures the modernisation of European ATM system through the rationalisation and coordination of research, development and validation.

In 2007, SESAR JU was set-up as a public-private partnership enabling the participation of all aviation players in the definition, development and deployment of a pan-European modernisation project, with a view to harmonising implementation.

Today, the SESAR programme involves over 2,300 experts working on 300 projects already delivering 67 validation trials.
