With global passenger traffic expected to grow by 3.6% annually until 2040 (IATA), airports must evolve into intelligent ecosystems that integrate operational efficiency, sustainability, and passenger comfort.
This December, the aviation world will gather in Riyadh for the Global Airports Forum, an international event dedicated to innovation and the transformation of airport hubs. Softech will be present at the Italian Pavilion to showcase solutions designed to address these emerging challenges.
Invisible Technologies, Visible Impact
At the Forum, we will present two technologies that operate behind the scenes yet have a direct impact on the quality of travel:
- Environmental Monitoring: systems that measure noise, air quality, and indoor comfort. The European Aviation Environmental Report reveals that more than 3.4 million people around major European airports are exposed to noise levels above 55 dB. Effective monitoring helps protect communities, reduces particulate and NOx emissions in line with the European Green Deal, and supports a more comfortable environment for passengers and staff. ACI studies also show that improved comfort correlates with increased spending in commercial areas.
- GSE & Baggage Cart Tracking: leveraging video analytics and predictive data processing, our platform counts available carts and forecasts whether they will meet demand based on incoming flights. In large hubs where tens of thousands of bags are handled daily, such optimization reduces inefficiencies, operational costs, and passenger stress.
These “invisible technologies” are becoming central to the future of airport operations.
We will also be pleased to present our other solutions, such as SARA Ground: an advanced platform for monitoring and analysing the ground movements of aircraft and airside vehicles.
