This innovative technology offers automatic, non-invasive detection and delivers superior levels of material discrimination and substance identification. This makes it particularly suitable for resolving alarms generated by Explosive Detection Systems and detecting constantly changing powder, liquid or solid compounds such as ‘homemade’ explosives and narcotics.

• Automated Prohibited Items Detection – Smiths Detection’s iCMORE technology uses artificial intelligence-based algorithms to automatically detect prohibited items such as firearms, knives, scissors, axes, blunt objects and more. Considering staff shortages and increasing passenger numbers at major airports, this will be a key enabler for increased operational efficiency, throughput and security whilst also reducing operational expenditure and facilitating resource planning.

• Open Architecture – As part of its Ada Initiative, Smiths Detection is accelerating the adoption of open architecture into the security environment.
