Software for Airport Planning, Design and Operations

Many of you PathPlanner A5 users out there have been wondering if/when you will be able to work with your existing PathPlanner A5 data in the all-new PathPlanner 6 generation. With version 6.02, the answer is Yes (in part)!

As a first step on the way to providing a full Migration tool later this year (yes, a tool for migrating all types of PathPlanner A5 data to PathPlanner 6 format will be available later this year), it is now possible to Import PathPlanner A5 Gate templates into PathPlanner 6.

In order to do so, please follows these simple instructions:

1. Begin by opening your PathPlanner A5 Gate session and, from the Session menu, select Template > Save. Save the Gate Template somewhere convenient.

2. Continue by opening PathPlanner 6 (in another CAD instance, it is not possible to run both PathPlanner A5 and PathPlanner 6 in the same drawing) and, from the main PathPlanner menu, toolbar or ribbon, select 'Design Gate'. Once the command has been launched, select File > Import Gate. You will be prompted to Browse to the Gate Template which you Saved in Step 1.

3. Once the A5 Gate template has been selected, it will be available on your cursor for placement in the drawing.

When the Import process is complete, it will be possible to handle the session in PathPlanner 6. Repeat Steps 1. – 3. should you wish to import multiple Gates.
