SAKAERONAVIGATSIA reach Site Acceptance with COMSOFT’s AIDA-NG and CADAS systems

Following dedicated customer and COMSOFT cooperation Georgia can now benefit from advanced communication technology, as both market-leading AIDA-NG and CADAS solutions are ready for full operation.

The central system, installed at Georgia International Airports, will vastly improve air navigation safety in the country, while further sophisticated terminals at Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi airports will give users easy and secure access to flight plans and other aeronautical data throughout the country.

Site Acceptance of COMSOFT’s CADAS-IMS system, at the end of May 2013, concluded the project for the National ANSP of Georgia, SAKAERONAVIGATSIA Ltd. This will allow the system to become fully operational in time for the heart of Georgia’s busy summer season, with increased flights to and from the country scheduled.

Georgia’s summer season runs until the end of October and nine leading airlines will increase a number of flights for summer 2013, including doubling direct flights from Tbilisi to Rome, from two to four times per week, new direct flights from Tbilisi to Barcelona, Brussels and Stockholm, as well as providing new domestic flights to Batumi and Kutaisi airports.

The project was characterised through excellent support and cooperation from SAKAERONAVIGATSIA, with various technical and project meetings being a valuable contribution to the customisation of the AIS/AIM part of the project, in full compliance with SAKAERONAVIGATSIA’s established procedures and work flows.

Georgia sits at an important junction between Europe and Asia, spanning an area of over 69,000 square kilometres and housing two mountain peaks over 5000 metres. Due to Georgia’s close vicinity to several Russian speaking countries the COMSOFT system was also given the ability to route messages using the Cyrillic alphabet.

COMSOFT’s AIDA-NG product is the only AMHS/AFTN implementation on the market able to provide fully integrated and uniform message handling facilities. Its ability to provide a WEB service for AFTN and AMHS  messaging clients  and to exchange  XML-based formats will play a significant role in future air traffic management. CADAS-ATS is also the perfect complement with its proven ATS end user services fully integrated with the AFTN and AMHS message processing, while CADAS-IMS also presents a highly adaptable service integration platform for NOF and integrated Briefing Services.

COMSOFT GmbH was established in 1979 and has been active in the ATC domain for over 20 years. Today the company’s expertise covers a vast proportion of the modern ATM industry, including innovative surveillance and communication solutions such as ADS-B and Multilateration sensors, while their products for aeronautical message handling have become market-leaders.

The continuous development of current technologies is a permanent focus and the company enjoys a worldwide reputation in this market.
