COMSOFT and skyguide’s recent announcement to work closer in the field of Aeronautical Information Management was a focus at the Global AIM trade fair 2014 in Dubai

DUBAI/UAE, July 2014 – The seventh IFAIMA Global AIM trade fair, attracting over 300 participants from 66 countries, took place in Dubai under the theme “Implementing AIM”, and hosted by Dubai Air Navigation Services (DANS) in cooperation with EUROCONTROL, and the support of His Royal Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum –  President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Chairman of Dubai Airports, and CEO of Middle Eastern airline Emirates.

This important event is progressively putting its mark on the world of AIM and its transition from AIS to AIM. It was therefore the perfect stage for skyguide’s Andreas Lüscher and COMSOFT’s Ulrich Kaage to present the two companies’ newly commenced partnership, which includes the joint advancement of COMSOFT’s AIM core product CADAS-AIMDB.

COMSOFT has been attending Global AIM since 2006, and it has become an important exhibition for the German expert, as well as this time providing the ideal opportunity to raise further awareness of their modular CADAS AIM solution. In their presentation the partners highlighted the challenges an ANSP faces when implementing the individual steps of the ICAO AIS to AIM roadmap.

CADAS-AIMDB is the central Aeronautical Information Management database with native AIXM 5.1 implementation. As a direct result of their strong cooperation during skyguide’s AIM implementation project phase, the Swiss ANSP and COMSOFT agreed to continue working closely on further improvements. This commitment has now been laid out in a product partnership for CADAS-AIMDB.

Upcoming topics of the partnership will be the implementation of dedicated AIM workflows, advanced UI concepts for even easier data management, as well as various optimisations to improve the integrated data quality assurance tools well beyond ADQ compliance. This will lead to a much higher automation, less work load and consequently to a much safer handling of Aeronautical Information.
