SAKAERONAVIGATSIA set on COMSOFT solutions to further improve air navigation safety for Georgia

National ANSP of Georgia, SAKAERONAVIGATSIA Ltd, signed two subsequent contracts with German ATC expert COMSOFT, in order to continue their goal for improved and advanced air navigation services for Georgia.

Successful installation of COMSOFT’s AIDA-NG and CADAS solutions in 2013 led the Georgian ANSP to again select COMSOFT for further expertise.  The next stage contract will include COMSOFT’s central Aeronautical database CADAS-AIMDB and its integrated and highly automated eAIP production tool as well as the OLDI/FMTP gateway COFFEE, an AIDA-NG extension which enables SAKAERONAVIGATSIA Ltd to interconnect with adjacent ATC centres.

These acquisitions will bring SAKAERONAVIGATSIA a crucial step further in their migration from AIS to AIM as it facilitates to complete the second phase of the ICAO AIS to AIM Roadmap and paves the way to commence the third and final phase. The native AIXM 5.1 database CADAS-AIMDB comes with a fully automated data exchange interface to connect the European AIS database (EAD). This solution allows fully migrated member to the EAD to keep all national data in their national database.

SAKAERONAVIGATSIA General Director, Mr. Gocha Mezvrishvili, signed the contract, with COMSOFT CEO Manfred Schmid, stating: “We are again looking forward to excellent support and cooperation from COMSOFT, working together to achieve the goals of SAKAERONAVIGATSIA.”

COMSOFT CEO Manfred Schmid also added: “We are pleased to be continuing this excellent working relationship with SAKAERONAVIGATSIA and look forward to another successful collaboration supporting their needs.”

Georgia’s 69,000 square kilometres lie at an important boundary between Europe and Asia and the upgrade will support the increase of direct European flights from the capital Tbilisi, as well as domestic flights to Batumi and Kutaisi airports in the country. COMSOFT also factored in the countries close vicinity to several Russian speaking countries, providing the system with the ability to route messages using the Cyrillic alphabet.
