Solution Provider and Consultant to the Air Traffic Management Sector

Indonesian Aviation School enlarges its laboratory by adding COMSOFT’s AIM, AMHS and eAIP solution. Existing ATM system PRISMA is upgraded.

The Indonesian aviation school and training centre STPI continues to modernise its laboratory facilities with German state-of-the-art technology. Being able to offer latest technologies, as stipulated by ICAO for upcoming years, will advance STPI to the leader among flight schools in the region. STPI opted for COMSOFT, as their superior products already fulfil future ICAO standards, and consequently allow their use in a future-oriented education.

With COMSOFT’S AIM solution CADAS, AIS officers- to-be are able to practice workflows that will be part of their daily routine when applying the ICAO roadmap from AIS to AIM. Trainees will learn how to generate a modern electronic AIP, thus consequently adhering to the latest EUROCONTROL eAIP specification which defines working processes for teamwork and quality control.

The centre piece of the AIM solution is COMSOFT’s native AIXM 5.1 database providing all applications with static and dynamic data. The Charting workstation for instance, automatically populates aeronautical charts with GIS data from the database, thus sparing their manual creation. AMHS training will soon be held via the world-leading AFTN/AMHS system AIDA-NG which operates in the major ATC centres around the globe.

Furthermore, the ATC automation system PRISMA, commissioned in 2010, will be upgraded so as to enable the tuition of handling ICAO’s new flight plan format which will come into effect from November 2012. Paired with the newly acquired components the graduating student will be put well on track for the demanding task of controlling and supporting air traffic in a country with thousands of islands and more than 300 airports.
