EUROCONTROL extended COMSOFT’s CAMOS (Centralised ARTAS Maintenance and Support Service) contract until 2015.

BRUSSELS/BELGIUM, DECEMBER 2011 – COMSOFT was entrusted by EUROCONTROL on behalf of its member states to stay in charge of the CAMOS service contract as industrial partner, to further support and enhance ARTAS – the most popular and most used surveillance data processing system throughout Europe. The third extension of this prestigious contract guarantees a continuous premium service period by COMSOFT for the ever growing community of users until 2015. 2011 marks a significant milestone in the history of Europe’s benchmark tracker as ARTAS celebrates its 20th anniversary and CAMOS its 10th anniversary.

In his speech held on the occasion of a EUROCONTROL-organised anniversary event, which took place during the 42nd ARTAS User Group (AUG) meeting on November 8th, EUROCONTROL's Director General, David McMillan, highlighted the historic meaning of ARTAS: "ARTAS when launched 20 years ago was seen as a stepping stone towards the goal of a consistent, coherent ATC system. Now we talk about it being an enabler for the SESAR operational concept".

ARTAS is one of the most advanced and mature surveillance data trackers worldwide. From the beginning, its associated CAMOS support service has been rendered via EUROCONTROL’s industrial partner COMSOFT, who enjoys an outstanding reputation among the ARTAS user community. Their broad and long experience within this project allows the German ATC specialist to adequately enhance ARTAS by new surveillance technologies such as ADS-B or WAM and to fulfil upcoming demands like tracking of surface movements and reinforcing the ARTAS software assurance level. With this years’ successful ISO/IEC 20000-1 certification, the high quality of COMSOFT's ARTAS support and maintenance services has again been confirmed: the service management system is in full accordance with this international quality standard for service management in information technology.
