Tern Systems have now completed installation and Site Acceptance Test for the Automatic Message Switch System and two end user AFTN Terminals at Pristina International Airport (PIA) in Kosovo. The AFTN Terminals are installed in METEO and AIS offices where end users can receive and send AFTN messages. The new message switch enables store and forward switching of aeronautical messages for ATS operations. Furthermore the installation will enable PIA to use in the future the emerging aeronautical ground-ground communications ICAO standard AMHS (Aeronautical Message Handling System).
