CANSO, the global voice of ATM, will make an important announcement during the upcoming 56th ATCA Conference & Exposition in Washington, 2-5 October.

CANSO Members, which support around 85% of world air traffic, recognise that the continued growth of air transport relies on a safe, efficient and cost-effective air traffic management system that is capable of meeting increasing demand.

During the association's ATM Summit in Bangkok earlier this year, the world's aviation leaders representing air navigation service providers, airlines, airports, industry suppliers and other industry bodies such as ICAO, called on CANSO to step up and lead change.

CANSO Director General Graham Lake said: "We have listened to what our members and their partners are telling us. CANSO must play a much more active role and help the industry help itself. To that effect, we will be making an important announcement at ATCA and I look forward to sharing our plans."

Following the announcement, CANSO staff will be available to answer questions at its booth (146). Delegates will also have the opportunity to find out more information about the association's global and regional activities, and pick up their free copies of the latest Airspace magazine and the 2011 edition of the CANSO ATM Report & Directory.
