In Dec. 2018, Gemalto acquired Green Bit, an innovative provider of biometric scanners. Biometric scanners are being used more and more for citizens’ biometric enrollment, authentication and other identity management purposes. These devices capture the fingerprint image that can then be stored and used in Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).
