$8.5 million yearly benefit from saving 10 seconds per flight

Industry studies of the Denver Airspace have shown that the cost to an airline for every 1 second delay is approximately $1.30.

With around 1,800 flights per day through DIA, making it the 5th busiest in the USA, this equates to an excess of $8.5m per year for just a10 second per flight saving.

In 2013, total on-time performance statistics for airlines flying in and out of DIA averaged between 63% and 91%, providing DIA and its airlines with an enormous cost saving opportunity.

The recognition of this has resulted in DIA partnering with Ultra to proactively manage and optimize their key resource assignment profiles and unlock the huge cost saving potential for their customers.

A Partnership for Perfomance

By utilizing UltraRESOURCE’s, flexible, predictive Artificial Intelligence capabilities to deliver fully optimized flight to gate profiles, Ultra will help DIA minimize an aircraft’s time on the ground and greatly improve their ability to proactively manage non-standard operational situations; such as adverse weather conditions.

The goal is to increase operational flexibility and promote better collaborative decision making.

Using Ultra’s latest technology for our gate management system allows us to better partner with our airlines for operational excellence.”Deputy Manager for Airport Operations, Denver International Airport
