Understanding the Advantages of dBD Communications Wireless Products for the Ground Handling Industry

Company dBD Communications
Date 15.07.2019

dBD Communications manufacture and supply wireless duplex communication products and have over 70% of the market share for wireless communications within the UK rail infrastructure. It was recognised that there were similarities within the construction highways and civils markets and with technology advancements within the ground handling environment, it was time to start expanding into new business areas.

The operations we support within the ground handling environment are; ground handling and de-icing (2-16 users) both of which can be used for maintenance, training and towing operations and a support system for operational readiness of products. The solutions are BSI approved to provide users 27dB noise protection.

The wireless concept has many benefits against its wired counterpart, such as reduction in trip hazards, eliminating the risk of electrocution from being tethered to the aircraft, reducing costs surrounding damaged cables and allows free movement around the whole aircraft with a continuous open or momentary communication range of up to 150m with the remainder of the team, including the Flight Deck.

Utilising Bluetooth duplex products allows users the ability to talk and listen at the same time, like a telephone. This prevents any delays of communication during operations.

As manufactures of these systems, our expert Engineers can adapt certain product solutions in order to suit customer requirements and relevant applications to ensure operations are carried out more effectively.

With multiple users for all applications available, this increases team and situational awareness as well as improving efficiency in all types of operations.

Appreciating operational readiness, we can offer bespoke aftercare support packages to suit our customers in the most resourceful way. Our Endaxi headset checker product would be included within these support packages as this specific support system enables users to test their headset functionality at their own facilities in less than 1 minute. This therefore, reduces the costs of shipment and inspection fees for those with no faults found. Also, increasing the operational readiness of equipment by ensuring there is a backup solution available whether this be an alert to ship an alternative whilst faulty items are sent into the Workshops, or whether there is a backup pool of equipment available.

dBD Communications pride themselves on being flexible for their customers. All products are available for free demonstrations and free trials for 1-4 weeks. This ensures our customers are satisfied in advance of any equipment purchasing.

Continuing to extend our product portfolio, please keep an eye on our website, social media platforms and our Airport Suppliers profile page for any updates and new products.
