Vanderlande - Ashgabat International Airport orders 13 SCANNOJET Automated Passenger Checkpoints

Turkmenistan’s new international airport in Ashgabat is replacing its existing airport facilities, and a new terminal is being constructed to cope with the country’s growing passenger volumes. The terminal is expected to handle around 14 million domestic and international travellers, and will benefit from Vanderlande’s automated passenger checkpoint – SCANNOJET.

In January 2015, Vanderlande was selected by main contractor Polimeks Insaat to be its baggage handling supplier of choice. In March 2016, it was also awarded the contract for the supply of automated passenger checkpoint systems.

Polimeks Insaat chose SCANNOJET for its quality and reliability, modular and aesthetic design, and competitive price. In addition, it can facilitate future upgrades to match changing business requirements.

The innovative SCANNOJET solution will help Ashgabat improve its security processes and throughput, while enhancing the passenger experience and reputation of the airport. It will also help Ashgabat reduce its operational costs.
