Vanderlande to exhibit new solutions at inter airport Europe 2017

Company Vanderlande
Date 05.10.2017

Vanderlande is presenting its latest innovations at inter airport Europe 2017, which will be held on 10-13 October at the Munich Trade Fair in Germany. At booth 1030 (Hall A5), the company will present FLEET, its new baggage logistics solution based on automated guided vehicle (AGV) technology and at booth 286 (Hall A6), Vanderlande will display its latest innovations in Advanced Passenger Checkpoint solutions.

This year’s inter airport Europe show will focus on the rising demand for digitalisation and automation systems, which are trends that offer significant opportunities for the aviation industry. Vanderlande has two stands at this year’s inter airport Europe, at which it will demonstrate its response to the challenges of this dynamic sector.

At booth 1030 (Hall A5), the company will present FLEET, its new baggage logistics solution based on automated guided vehicle (AGV) technology. By utilising AGV’s, FLEET replaces the need for fixed conveyors and sorting systems. Each individual vehicle carries a single bag and determines its route through an airport.

In addition, a vehicle can be given priority, which safeguards the delivery of time-critical (or ‘hot’) baggage on time. ‘Swarm’ intelligence – combined with advanced data analytics – enables continuous adaptation and improvement of the solution. Owing to its configuration, FLEET is scalable, flexible and resilient.

The FLEET concept has been nominated for the prestigious inter airport Europe Innovation Awards in the interTERMINAL category. The winner will be announced at 11am on 10 October at the exhibition.

At booth 286 (Hall A6), Vanderlande will display its latest innovations in Advanced Passenger Checkpoint (APC) solutions. These have been designed to help airports respond to growing security requirements and deliver a pleasant passenger experience. Vanderlande’s APC solution is a seamless system that combines a modular, state- of-the-art automated screening lane with remote screening (or centralised image processing). This allows screening agents to share the workload, counters the effect of traffic variation and significantly improves operational efficiency.

“As the airports sector continues to evolve, it’s important that we are able to talk directly to people in the industry about the challenges they’re facing and how we can help, “ says Vanderlande’s Board Member and Executive Vice President Airports, Andrew Manship. “With FLEET and our Advanced Passenger Checkpoint Solutions, we’re confident that we have two state-of-the-art solutions that will benefit our customers’ operations.”
