Virtual access to the airport: Kaba 360°City app with new segment

Company Kaba Gallenschuetz GmbH
Date 05.07.2016

The Kaba 360° City app is an innovative sales and marketing tool that demonstrates how to use Kaba products in a virtual 3D world. Alongside the ‘Industry’ and ‘Private home’ sections, the section ‘Airport’ is now being added to the app too.

Ensuring the safety of passengers and staff presents airports and airlines with huge challenges. Kaba specialises in secure solutions for airport processes and demonstrates this in the new version of their app. Products for isolating persons, access control and workforce management are shown in twelve selectable international language versions.

These range from mechanical and mechatronic locking systems, online access control and biometric systems, to time registration, security revolving doors and interlocking doors for staff, through to self-boarding systems and automatic border and passport control.

The solutions are shown from the perspective of the different groups of people in the airport. Whether staff, passengers, visitors or employees of service providers, only the items relevant to each role are displayed. Furthermore, three functional principles explain how an access management system and the biometric matching of passenger to passport work and how passenger flows manifest themselves upon departure and arrival.

It is not only the functionality of the Kaba 360°City app that impresses but also its design. This is why the app was awarded the iF Design Award 2015, the DDC Design Award at the GOOD DESIGN 15 competition and the German Design Award Gold 2016.

It runs on iOS, Android and Windows operating systems. To find out how to download this free app, visit www.kaba.com/kaba-360-city or go straight to the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
