The exchange of AMHS messages is a significant milestone for Naviair (Denmark), Finavia (Finland) and LGS (Latvia) in their migration to AMHS as mandated by ICAO.

Frequentis has delivered its smartMessenger system to customers in the countries of Denmark, Finland, and Latvia, where thousands of AMHS messages are being exchanged on a daily basis to emphasize the practical use of AMHS as a means of transporting messages, and to underscore the reliability of Frequentis smartMessenger.

Besides the existing network of users, AMHS messages have also been exchanged with test partners in Iceland and Poland, where plans to conduct formal interoperability testing are in progress.

smartMessenger is designed to offer high performance and to ease the migration from AFTN (CIDIN) to AMHS and SWIM by supporting all the message formats used in the aeronautical community and the interoperability with other global messaging systems (ie. Internet) in one fully integrated system.

smartMessenger supports both the AMHS basic and extended services as defined in the ICAO AMHS SARPS, Eurocontrol AMHS specifications and regional AMHS standards.

smartMessenger fully complies with all applicable EC safety and interoperability regulations.
