Voice Communication Systems for Air Traffic Control

Company FREQUENTIS
Date 15.06.2012

Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil Argentina (ANAC), in cooperation with the Argentinean Air Force and ICAO, has decided to modernise the air traffic tower in San Fernando with a new voice communication system (VCS) from Frequentis. The new system will be installed in 2012 and is based on the most trusted VCS platform in the world: the 3020X. Communications throughout the entire airspace around Buenos Aires will then be managed via Frequentis communication systems, ensuring safe flight and airspace operations.

Given the organisational changes in Argentina and the arrival of new technicians on some sites, Frequentis has also created a customised and dedicated technical training programme for ANAC. This will give local engineers a full understanding of the operational systems at each site.

A Frequentis voice communication system has already been in operation at the Ezeiza (Buenos Aires) control centre and tower. ANAC plans to keep this VCS in operation until it undergoes modernisation.

Until then, Frequentis will provide preventive and corrective maintenance services to ensure high system availability. In particular, annual preventive maintenance visits to all installed sites in Argentina will help keep systems in perfect shape and provide local ANAC technicians with on-the-job training in the most important maintenance routines.

This project is further proof that Frequentis not only supplies the world’s market-leading voice communication system, but also offers best-of-class services…all customised to the specific needs of each client.
