Frequentis AG is an international supplier of communication and information systems in two business segments: air traffic management (civil and military) and public safety & transport (police, fire and ambulance services; inland and maritime shipping; rail). The company is the global market leader in voice communication systems for air traffic control, with a market share of 30%.
Frequentis AG is the main company within the Frequentis Group. As such, the Group’s core business functions and activities are concentrated in the Vienna (Austria) headquarters of the company. Corporate strategy is to continue expanding the Group, particularly with regard to sales & operations, software, and services. The clear focus here is on control centre solutions: the systems developed by Frequentis are a major part of these all-in-one solutions for safety-critical tasks.
The Frequentis Group’s business performance in 2012 was excellent, featuring significant growth over the year. Our operating performance reached more than € 183 million: this represents an increase of over 12 % on the previous year’s result (€ 163 million). The improvement in EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) was equally striking: the 2012 figure of € 8.9 million is an increase of 22.1 % compared to 2011 figure (€ 7.3 million).
The company's international success is reflected in an export rate of 90%. The Frequentis success story and the sustainable growth of the Frequentis Group rely on the efforts of some 1.100 dedicated employees (the average number employed in 2012).
Frequentis can draw on enormous reserves of project know-how built through numerous international engagements and decades of experience. The company is technology-oriented with a strong focus on innovation. Special emphasis is given to the optimisation of the human-machine interface.
