VOLKAN’S LIONS WILL BE THE HERO OF MALAYSIA AIRPORTS

Airport operations require extra specialization, knowledge and having perfect equipment for fire fighters. LION is manufactured to meet every need, demand and most important requirements of firefighting crew even in most formidable conditions with its speed and functionality.

“LION”s, designed for the toughest situations which require rapid response, will be the protector of Malaysia Airports with its powerful engine, DCP system, CAFS unit, hydraulic and manual equipment and with its handy and innovative solutions that are perfectly integrated to system. And LION is produced by VOLKAN R&D Center by taking into consideration the tropical climate conditions and local usage habits.

17 UNITS OF “LION” ARE ON THE WAY TO MALAYSIA

17 units LION 6×6 are producing with VOLKAN quality with NFPA, ICAO standards and now, they are on the way to be best supporter firefighters of Malaysia Airports. First 3 units will be delivered on August 2020.

TECHNICAL FEAUTURES OF LION 6X6

Lion 6×6 which can reach to the operation zone within seconds with its light and aerodynamic superstructure, composite alloy and 770 HP can fearlessly overcome even the challenging missions with its Volkan branded fire pump up to 10.000 lpm which is one-piece designed and manufactured. Again, Volkan branded electrical controlled monitors with the capacity up to 9.750 lpm provided on the roof and bumper of the vehicle. Lion’s tank which has up to 14.000 lt water capacity and 1.700 lt foam capacity tank is monocoque sandwich composite.

All Lion class ARFF vehicles are equipped with EFP 550 which is the Volkan automatic foam proportion system compatible with most of foam concentrate that are preferred by ARFF units and this foam concentrate sensitively structures foam density between 1% and 10%.

LION’s cabin has very ergonomic design for crew and performance of the vehicle. It has up to 5+1 seats and large room space in. Lion’s glass storage door gives vision to the operator and automatic sliding rescue stairs is one of the other important feature. In addition, thanks to condition pack vehicles with Lion class can operate under different weather conditions from temperatures less than -25°C up to +55°C. Lion’s user friendly dashboard within the panel is always available for offering service. Bird-eye view parking system is available thanks to the cameras located on both side and at the rear of vehicle.

CONNECTED FOR HEROES (C4H):
VEHICLE MONITORING AND REPORTING SYSTEM

Lion has C4H application (Connected For Heroes: Vehicle Monitoring And Reporting System) which is developed by Volkan Team, monitoring the vehicle and reporting the data to Volkan’s After Sales Service Team. The data reporting prevents potential faults on the chassis and fire fighting system by sending signals to the operator. The fleet manager of fire station may also monitor conditions of the vehicle on-line.
