WEY Group AG (WEYTEC), a leading global provider of high-performance workplace solutions on trading floors and in control rooms, has received Common Criteria certification at the EAL2 level for its WEYTEC distributionPLATFORM WDP MX®. The security evaluation was carried out by secuvera GmbH, a test laboratory (ITSEF) recognized by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). The certificate was issued with the number BSI-DSZ-CC-1253-2025 and is valid until July 2030.
Top-notch IT security and performance
The WDP MX® is an IP-based KVM solution that enables cross-location access to applications, information sources and computers. It integrates a whole range of different systems and devices into a single, independent IP network – without the need for additional software or driver installations. The multifunctional smartTOUCH keyboard with a touchscreen and programmable keys allows users to intuitively control their sources.
The platform is designed for high-availability, 24/7 operation and is used in safety-critical work environments such as control centers, as well as in trading rooms. It is designed, developed and produced entirely in Switzerland.
With its successful Common Criteria certification, WDP MX® has now been independently certified to meet international IT-security requirements.
“For us as a provider of solutions that are used daily in highly sensitive areas, IT security is of central importance. Successful CC certification of the WDP MX® platform is an important milestone and a clear sign of our quality and safety standards,” explains Armin Klingler, Chairman of the Board and CEO of WEY Group AG.
Structured evaluation by secuvera
The preparations for certification and the testing of the product were carried out by secuvera GmbH. The security assessment of the WDP MX® platform, version 1.4.1, was conducted as part of a structured evaluation procedure under laboratory conditions. The test was conducted in a physically and logically isolated environment. The test configuration included WDP MX® servers, IP remote transmitters and receivers, smartTOUCH user interfaces and the associated infrastructure.
The evaluation by secuvera GmbH encompassed all security-related functions as well as a detailed vulnerability analysis. The result: The WDP MX® platform meets all requirements of the internationally recognized Common Criteria (ISO 15408) framework. This means that the implementation of the product and all operational measures provided by the manufacturer ensure effective protection against attacks with a basic attack potential.
“The WEYTEC distributionPLATFORM WDP MX® is a technically sophisticated product with versatile application scenarios. It is therefore all the more gratifying that we were able to demonstrate fulfillment of all relevant requirements in the security evaluation,” says Sebastian Fritsch, Head of the BSI Common Criteria Testing Unit at secuvera GmbH.
The Common Criteria international security standard
The Common Criteria (ISO 15408) framework is a globally recognized standard for assessing the security of IT products. It provides the basis for mutual recognition within the framework of the CCRA (Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement) and strengthens trust in certified solutions – especially in the regulatory and critical-infrastructure sectors. Since 2025, CC certifications in Europe have been conducted on a uniform basis under the EUCC procedure.
