NAVCANatm Technology Solutions:
Tried, tested and proven in the field
Need powerful, integrated Air Traffic Management (ATM) Technology Solutions?
Talk to the company that owns and operates Canada’s civil air navigation system, providing air navigation services for more than 11 million aircraft movements a year.
At NAV CANADA, we know air traffic management; we’re in the business. We manage some of the world’s busiest airspace and some of its most remote, from the North Atlantic route linking North America and Europe, to the over-the-pole route to Asia, to busy international airports across Canada.
To deal with these challenging environments while modernizing operations, our engineers and air traffic controllers developed the ATM technology solutions we needed—technology that complements the way we work. Then we applied it in our operations.
Following a decade of proven in-service operation at towers, terminals and airports throughout Canada, these tools are now in use around the world, field tested and backed by the our experience and reputation.
Explore the built-in advantage that comes with all NAVCANatm technology solutions: NAV CANADA experience, reliability and commitment to excellence.
The NAVCANsuite family of tower-automation products provides fast and reliable access to critical airport, tower and terminal air traffic control information. It is designed to innovate and simplify the air traffic controllers’ workstation. Both standalone and integrated solutions are available.
NAVCANsuite features an integrated controller working position with up to four touch-screen monitors that provide NAVCANatm technology, including NAVCANstrips, NAVCANatis, NAVCANinfo, NAVCANsitu and NAVCANlink.
This integrated solution has been developed and continuously proven in operational installations for 10 years. By separating the software from the hardware, we can advance software and hardware capabilities incrementally as new technologies become available, while applying lessons learned from operational experience.
Aviation is a collaborative effort, and collaborative decision-making requires all participants to have access to the same information at the same time. NAVCAN link supports this collaboration by providing non-operational users, such as terminal operations staff and air carrier operations managers, with a near-real-time view of an airport’s radar and status.
Fully integrated with other NAVCANsuite applications, NAVCANlink is proven and secure. The second-generation web viewer is based on a proven system in service with NAV CANADA. The data displayed is a read-only copy of operational databases. To ensure sensitive information is transmitted only to those users authorized to see it, the system can be configured so that different aviation partners have access only to pages customized for their use. To support today’s mobile workforce, a mobile version of NAVCANlink is available for use with tablets and smart phones.
Every ANS provider has unique airspace and airport demands, but we all share the common objective of safe, efficient, cost-effective service. Technology solutions from NAVCANatm will help meet those goals.
We support each system we develop and install using our proven Safety and Quality Management process, tailored to the system safety levels and regulatory requirements specific to your facility. Testing occurs at the system, site and operational levels. Acceptance is based on system specifications, site integration requirements, and operational use.
Our solutions, built for you
Whether you need the full complement of NAVCANsuite products or one of its components, all NAVCANatm solutions are built to your requirements, using a tested collaborative process that tailors our technology to your environment. Each system is flexible and can be scaled to meet the demands of your operation now and as it grows. Following deployment, we support your system with comprehensive lifecycle maintenance and support and training to ensure optimum performance.
Support for life
All NAVCANatm technology solutions were developed for our ANS operations and are in use today. Our customer service incorporates lessons learned in our operations and the long-term strategy we use for our own ATM products. We ensure each system is reliable, well maintained and always available by providing redundancy and 24/7 support, and by installing software updates and adaptations rapidly and efficiently.
How well people use technology is the measure of its success, so we make in-depth, professional training a cornerstone of our service. Our training programs for air traffic control and technical support personnel are based on the proven, cost-effective programs we developed for our staff and for employees of other ANS providers. Our experienced trainers will work with your team to develop and deliver programs at your site or ours. A train-the-trainer approach, tailored specifically to your system, focuses on making the people who use the technology comfortable with it and expert in its use.
