Apron-drive telescopic passenger boarding bridge (PBB) is the most widely deployed type of boarding bridge worldwide. It boasts a large operating range and flexible layout options, requires low precision for aircraft docking, delivers superior adaptability, and is compatible with all types of apron layout schemes.

The apron-drive telescopic PBB mainly consists of a rotary turntable, telescopic gangway, lifting & travelling mechanism, service access staircase and aircraft docking head. The rotary turntable serves as the central pivot of the entire boarding bridge. The telescopic gangway is assembled from two or three nested segments of different lengths to enable extension and retraction, with its rear end connected to the rotary turntable. Driven by the integrated lifting and travelling mechanism, the telescopic gangway and docking head can either rotate within a fan-shaped zone centered on the turntable or extend/retract longitudinally. This combined rotary-telescopic compound motion allows the boarding bridge to travel from its stowed parking position to align with the aircraft cabin door. The aircraft docking head is capable of lateral swing to match the position of the aircraft cabin door. The retractable bellows fitted at the front end of the docking head can extend to tightly attach to the aircraft fuselage, supporting all-weather passenger boarding operations.
