Designed by Norman Foster in collaboration with Vitra, Airline is a beam seating system created specifically for airport environments. Combining architectural elegance with exceptional durability, it offers a refined solution for terminal waiting areas where passenger comfort, operational efficiency and long-term performance are equally important.
Light, robust, enduring
Airline is based on a sturdy aluminium beam supported by die-cast aluminium legs, onto which seats, armrests and table elements can be mounted. The robust construction is exceptionally durable and designed to withstand the rigorous demands of airport terminals and other public waiting areas.
A system approach
The system is designed for easy installation, maintenance and reconfiguration. Components can be added, removed or rearranged as operational requirements evolve, helping airports adapt their seating environments over time. Optional tables and integrated elements support a range of passenger activities, from waiting and relaxing to working while on the move.
By combining operational flexibility and outstanding durability, Airline enables airports to create efficient waiting areas that support both passenger experience and long-term operational performance.
