Airport Information

Larnaca International Airport

Larnaca International Airport – Glafcos Clerides is an international airport located 4 km southwest of Larnaca, Cyprus. Larnaca International Airport is Cyprus’ main international gateway and the larger of the two commercial airports in the area controlled by the Republic of Cyprus, the other being Paphos International Airport on the island’s southwestern coast. The airport was given its current name in July 2016, in honour of former President of Cyprus (1993 – 2003) Glafcos Clerides.

In May 2006, Hermes Airports Ltd undertook the operation and management of Larnaka and Pafos International Airports, under a 25-year BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) concession agreement with the Republic of Cyprus. We are a Cyprus based registered company with an international consortium of 9 shareholders, representing a mix of Cypriot and international partners.

The construction works commenced immediately, under a rapid design and build contract, and by 2008 and 2009 respectively, both Pafos and Larnaka new airport terminals were delivered as scheduled, making the best use of a substantial investment. The Build-Operate-Transfer project was the first privatization of its kind in Cyprus. The new airports offer world-class, state of the art facilities, with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
