Air passengers’ own living room in Helsinki Airport’s gate area has been revamped

Company Helsinki Airport
Date 24.01.2023
The revamped Maja Living Room is open to passengers at Helsinki Airport at gate 52. The Living Room now also has a quiet room.

Maja Living Room is a space open to all passengers, where they can relax, calm down and exercise before their flight.

We are delighted to be able to offer the revamped facilities to our passengers. We want our passengers to enjoy themselves and relax in the terminal, and these facilities offer them a good opportunity to do so,” says Hanna Hämäläinen, Finavia’s Head of Passenger Services and Development for Helsinki Airport.

The Living Room has a separate quiet room for passengers, wall bars and comfortable lounge chairs, among other things. The space is open 24/7 in the gate area after passport control.

Quiet room opened to passengers
Recently renovated by Finavia, the space now also offers a quiet room, which you can visit to rest, calm down, meditate or enjoy the quiet. The airport’s quiet room was created in cooperation with the Vantaa parishes – Parish Union of Vantaa as a result of the airport work survey project.

Various quiet spaces both in Finland and abroad were used in the modelling of the room.

The purpose of the quiet room is to serve everyone working at and visiting the airport, regardless of their convictions. The quiet room was created as a result of cooperation between different world views,” says Hanna Similä, the project expert for airport work at the Vantaa parishes – Parish Union of Vantaa.

The quiet room was opened to passengers in January 2023. The room can be visited by passengers whose flight leaves from the non-Schengen area.
