AtkinsRéalis and H.J. Russell & Company have been selected by Denver International Airport (DEN) to provide programme management services for its North Terminal Expansion (NTE), under a joint venture known as Mile High Delivery Partners.

The 10-year contract, which could be worth up to US$135 million, will support the airport’s plans to increase passenger-processing capacity, modernise domestic and international facilities, and prepare for future growth.

Denver International Airport’s North Terminal Expansion forms part of its Vision 100 and Operation 2045 development plans, which aim to accommodate 100 million passengers annually initially, rising to 120 million by 2045.

The project will increase passenger-processing capacity, expand airline check-in facilities and security screening, improve international flight operations, and upgrade federal inspection services and baggage-handling infrastructure.

Under the contract, Mile High Delivery Partners will oversee programme management activities spanning planning, design, procurement, construction, stakeholder coordination, project controls, quality assurance, risk management and operational readiness.

AtkinsRéalis will draw on its experience supporting major airport developments, including Denver’s Peña Boulevard Expansion, JFK New Terminal One, ATLNext and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s Terminal Renewal and Improvement Programme.

The programme is intended to support Denver’s long-term expansion while maintaining uninterrupted airport operations throughout construction.
