Christmastime at Zurich Airport

New “Zauberpark” winter festival
From 25 November until 12 December, the airport park will be transformed into a magical place. At the lights and music festival “Zauberpark” top-calibre stars from the Swiss music scene will play on the outdoor stage and children’s acts will get young guests dancing, singing along and laughing. Twelve light installations will be installed along the panorama route, and a “connoisseurs’ village” will provide tasty treats. The Zauberpark is a 3G event (visitors must be tested, vaccinated or have recovered from Covid).

Christmas village and light show
The main square of the Circle will host a small Christmas village from 24 November until 24 December for the first time, around an impressive nine-metre-tall sparkling Christmas tree. The cosy Christmas huts will offer something for every taste, including raclette, tarte flambée, currywurst sausages, roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, punch and Lebanese specialities. bio local and Dillysocks will also have stands. The “Sparkling Christmas Tree” light show will take place each evening at 17:00, 18:00 and 19:00. Sparkling light balls hang above the lanes, pointing the way to other stores at the Circle.

Many gift ideas
Anyone still looking for gift ideas for their Advent calendar or under the tree will find everything they need at Zurich Airport. The shops in Airport Shopping and the Circle are open daily until late in the evening. Seek inspiration in the many display windows and from 17 December, have your gifts wrapped at the gift-wrap table. There are great prizes to be won in the airport’s Christmas competition every week.

Advent concert
The traditional Advent concert by the Zurich Airport Orchestra will take place in Terminal 2 at 10:30 on 5 December. Visitors can spend time at festively decorated seating zones with little Christmas trees in Airport Shopping. As every year, half a million fairy lights will be twinkling throughout the airport. The popular Swarovski Christmas trees will sparkle again in Check-in 2 and the Airside Center.

Time to dream
The joy of travel is returning, and the winter timetable has just as many destinations as before the pandemic. Among them are new destinations such as Zanzibar, Liberia or Sal in Cape Verde. For those staying at home but with a longing to travel, we recommend a visit to Observation Deck B which is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 until 16:00 until the end of the year.
