Denver City Council approves $135 million programme-management contract for North Terminal Expansion

Denver City Council has approved a $135 million programme-management contract for the planned North Terminal Expansion at Denver International Airport (DEN).

The 10-year contract has been awarded to Mile High Delivery Partners Joint Venture, comprising AtkinsRéalis and H.J. Russell. The joint venture will provide programme-management services for the major expansion programme.

The approval is set out in Denver City Council Resolution 26-1076, which authorises the $135 million contract with Mile High Delivery Partners Joint Venture.

The North Terminal Expansion is part of DEN’s long-term plans to accommodate continued passenger growth, with the airport preparing for demand of up to 100 million passengers annually.

The programme will expand and improve key passenger-processing facilities, including security checkpoints, check-in facilities and international-arrivals infrastructure. Construction is expected to begin in 2028/29.

The appointment of Mile High Delivery Partners represents a significant step towards delivering the next phase of infrastructure at one of the world’s busiest airports.

The programme-management team will oversee the planning and delivery of the complex expansion programme, coordinating the work required to increase capacity while maintaining airport operations.

Denver International Airport is currently undertaking a number of major infrastructure projects as it prepares for long-term growth. The North Terminal Expansion is intended to provide additional capacity and improve the passenger experience as traffic continues to increase.
