Denver International Airport (DEN) has introduced Express Pay, a new parking payment service powered by Flash, enabling enrolled travellers to enter and exit airport parking facilities without stopping to pay at the gates.
The service uses licence plate recognition technology to identify vehicles automatically on arrival and departure, processing parking payments electronically to help reduce congestion at exit lanes and improve the overall parking experience.
Travellers can enrol through ParkWhiz, Flash’s parking platform, or the ParkMobile app. The service is available across DEN’s garage, economy and shuttle parking facilities.
During registration, users can choose between a one-time payment option and autopay. Those opting for autopay benefit from automated entry and exit on subsequent parking visits, without needing to obtain a ticket or scan a payment method at the gate.
Once enrolled, drivers’ licence plates are recognised automatically on entry, activating their parking session. A notification or text message confirms activation, depending on the enrolment method. On departure, the exit gate opens automatically, payment is processed electronically and a receipt is sent by text message.
DEN interim Chief Executive Officer Dave LaPorte said the introduction of Express Pay represents another step in modernising the airport’s parking operations, improving convenience and helping travellers save time.
The new service forms part of DEN’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of its ground transportation and parking facilities through technology.
