Several companies are expanding their activities at the Circle at Zurich Airport: Microsoft Switzerland is opening a new Innovation Hub, Avolta is increasing its office space, and SAP is establishing a new Experience Center. In September, Edelweiss opened its «Edelweiss Hub» on the main square, further expanding its presence at the Circle. These developments reflect continued strong demand for the Circle as a business and services hub.
Several companies based at the Circle are investing in additional space and facilities, further expanding their presence at the location. One of them is Avolta, which has so far been represented at the Circle by its Anecdote concept store. The company has now leased additional space and will occupy several floors. Renovation work began in July, with Avolta expected to move into the expanded premises in the first quarter of 2027. The new space will primarily be used for offices and an innovation centre to develop new concepts.
“At the Circle, we are bringing together the key elements that drive Avolta forward: Swiss, regional and global functions, as well as technology and product development teams. Under one roof, we are creating a connected environment where people, expertise and ideas come together to accelerate innovation. With its direct access to Zurich Airport and international environment, the Circle is an ideal location for this.”
Yves Gerster, Group CFO Avolta
Microsoft Switzerland expands its space at the Circle
Microsoft Switzerland has also leased additional space at the Circle. The approximately 2,000 m² of additional space will partly be used as offices. Microsoft will also establish a larger Innovation Hub.
“Innovation happens where people, ideas and technologies come together. The Circle provides a unique environment for this. The additional space will enable us to further strengthen collaboration with customers and partners and jointly unlock new opportunities for Switzerland as a business location.”
Catrin Hinkel, CEO Microsoft Schweiz
Edelweiss and SAP also invest in the location
The Circle’s development extends beyond additional office space. Edelweiss has had its head office at the Circle since 2021. In September, the airline opened its new visitor offering, the Edelweiss Hub, directly on the main square. The previously announced SAP Experience Center is also expected to open in spring 2027, further expanding SAP’s presence at the location.
These expansions underline the Circle’s attractiveness as a business location. Companies particularly value the modern, flexible working environments and the immediate proximity to Zurich Airport. Around 50 companies are currently based at the Circle.
“The high occupancy rate and the fact that several companies are leasing additional space demonstrate that the Circle has established itself as a business location. Demand for modern workplaces in well-connected locations remains high.”
